Prior review comment: Requires a dimensioned side view of the existing sign to ensure the new sign is not thicker than the existing sign - per Article 8 reduction determination by the Sign Code Administrator. (Acknowledged a note is on the plans, but the dimensioned side view of the existing sign is still required.) |

The following revisions and/or information is needed to proceed with the permit process: 12 comments below: 1) Per Section 3-36 of the Sign Code: please note traffic directional setbacks -both traffic directionals off Wilmot and El Dorado - on site plan page. Note, traffic directionals must have minimum setback of 20' from street curbs, it's does not appear that the El Dorado traffic directional will meet this requirement. 2) All freestanding signs are to be reviewed on scaled site plans. please show a scale on the site plan sheet and add sight visibility triangles for both Wilmot & El Dorado 3) please clarify if (3) existing wall signs will remain for new tenant or be removed ("Clearance/drive thru" "do not enter" signs) Note, if these signs remain, this will increase the proposed total sign area and that information remains to be reviewed for code allowance yet. 4) please provide & dimenion on drawings the overall sign height for the existing monument (use grade at base of sign to top of cabinet) 5) please provide dimensioned side view of existing monument sign 6) please provide 10% Article 8 Reduction calculations (compare old sign with new sign at 10% less sign area and height) 7) on elevation view of new sign, call out overall height to top of cabinet as measured from grade at base of sign (allowed due to Article 8 process) 8) on side view of proposed monument sign, please extend dimensions of sign "thickness" to include the faces of the pop out lettering. 9) appears sign area for new monument sign needs revision - use dimensions of cabinet rather than sign support structure. 10) only 1 traffic directional was found on the sign application sheet but there are two shown in the drawings submitted. Please add info for a 2nd traffic directional to the sign permit application 11) no construction/assembly detail was found for either traffic directional sign. what are signs made out of - show detail with footers - and footer depths/widths? (needed for inspection) 12) no construction details were found in the submittal packet for the new monument sign structure. Need a drawing with construction assembly specs that includes all electrical details and footer details for this new sign. |
