Structural review division comment:
1) Engineered drawings stamped 2/28/12 do not reflect revision to 14' clearance from lowest sign cabinet to sign grade, and should match updated sheet G-701. Check structural calcs due to reduction in size of sign cabinet.

Signs Review Division - proposal approved, pending corrections from other divisions of PDSD, project only requires prelim site inspection prior to release of permit.

Structural review division comment:
1) Engineered drawings stamped 2/28/12 do not reflect revision to 14' clearance from lowest sign cabinet to sign grade, and should match updated sheet G-701. Check structural calcs due to reduction in size of sign cabinet.

Zoning Review Division -

1) Elevation certificate sheet shows the sign encroaching in the 20' communications easement. Revise drawing. Dimension width of area where sign will be placed between communications easement and TEP easement.
03/09/2012 SIGN SITE REVIEW Denied The Sign Code Division has reviewed the proposal and is requesting the following corrections be made prior to the Structural Division's review or standard preliminary site inspection being peformed. * It is understood this project is reviewed for compliance with the former "Freeway District" of the 2007 Sign Code, per the letter signed by the Sign Code Administrator 2/23/11, in addition to applicable performance criteria for freeway signage and items required for plan review - outlined per the Sign Code.

1) On sheet G-701, Please dimension length of the panels on the sign so the total sign area can be verified.

2) On Sheet G-701, Please list the total sign areas for each panel and provide an overall sign area for all panels and the raised lettering at the bottom of the sign.

3) Sheet G-702, please provide a side view showing whether the "push through" lettering at the bottom of the sign is in flush with or is raised off the surface of the sign support structure.

4) Clarify if push-through lettering at bottom of the sign is illuminated. And if applicable, provide electrical details.

5) Sheet G-701 identifies illuminated panels. It appears staff is missing a sheet of electrical information that should be forwarded to the structural/electrical reviewers for the sign overall. Please provide clarification.

6) On Sheet G-701, Section 3-61.E. of the Sign Code requires a minimum clearance of 14' from the bottom sign cabinet to the grade under it. Demonstrate how this will be met.

7) Section 3-33.B - to measure sign height on a freeway sign, the grade level to measure from is the elevation of the outside edge of the freeway travel lane closest to the sign - to the top of the sign (cabinet or raised lettering). To verify the actual height of the sign will require further detail than provided on sheets G700-2, such as a survey or combination of information such as but not limited to: a scaled, topographic detailed map showing elevations at the freeway edge and the proposed sign location and a clear cross-section drawing showing the difference between these grades with the sign's construction.

8) Please provide a scaled drawing showing the sign's setback from the freeway (Section 3-61.B) and from the property line (verify on site and for inspections purposes). (Using same drawing as elevation is fine.)

9) Please provide clarification - for structural review purposes and engineering calculation revew - the overall surface area of the sign and support structure and the overall height as measured from the local grade.

10) PAD-15 zoning criteria requires that the PAD's Design Review Committee (DRC) provides a letter of approval for the project prior to issuance of any permits for development within the PAD. Please provide a PAD DRC letter for this proposed freeway sign.
