12/23/2012 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Received call from communication that T.F.D. on site with a house fire. Arrived and still putting out hot spots. Investigators on the property but have not been allowed to get on the property due to the heat. Given permission to check the property and the neighbor house has heat damage to the facsia on the overhang and damage to the vehicle parked on the neighbors side parked near the sidewalk. Had T.E.P. on site and was going to check the service line feeding the property next door and was OK. The meter on this property was pulled and blanked due to the damage of the fire. The carport and the storage room are a total lost from the fire. The fire got into the kitchen and dinning room area and has smoke damage through out the house. The kitchen cabinets are smoked and heat damage to the finish of the cabinets. The property was a rental and the tenants moved all their belongings out of the house. The owner showed to the property and went over the damage and was checking if they were going to secure the property. Was asking for the side door to be secured and where the storage room and carport was to have it fenced off to block from letting anyone getting in the area due to was not stable. The owner was going to try and call the insurance to check if they could do the securement. Did look at the damage and took pictures and did the paper work for Notice to Vacate and Notice of Violation. While doing the paper work the owner gave permission to have the property secured. Called Bathcrest to have the door opening and where the drywall was knocked down from the fire and to check for fire. The carport and the storage room were fenced off to block from the area being entered. Did the posting of "Do Not Enter" and locked the front door once the interior was secured. Secured the openings on the house from the interior due to the wood was burned on the exterior portions. The fence panels with Tee post from the house to the neighbors 6' chain link fence. Left a gate opening with a lock to enter the area if needed to look at the damage. The owner was advised that the tenant can only come back on the property if the owner is on the property or has knowlege that someone is on the property to work or remove items from the property. Will check in 30 days. RV.
