11/29/2012 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | Approved | At site with Inspector Goodman. The rear gate was open so we could see where the granite was being cut and sanded/ground down. Found a granite table saw being used. Spoke to owner, Lou. Explained to him that he was in violation of zoning C-2 regulations, hand tools only. The owner started up the table saw and cut a three foot piece of granite. The saw cuts about 12" per minute and hardly made any noise. Inspector Goodman and I both agreed that the two employees with the hand grinders/sanders were more noisy and created more dust than the table saw. Still, the table saw violates the Tucson Code. There is also an illegel structure attached to the main building. F/U 30 days. | |
