07/29/2012 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved Received call from Gerald Goodman to take a call that T.F.D. on site with a lighting hitting the building. Arrived and lighting had hit the roof of the 3rd floor of building 5 and fire started in the ceiling of a closet in the master bedroom. The fire stayed in the ceiling of the closet area but drywall was removed in the ceiling and walls to check for extension of the fire in the bedroom. The electrical meter was blanked off at the disconnect area for the area of the building for the unit of #524. S.W.G. was on site and checking all the units in the building due the gas was turned off. All the gas forced air furnace were still in the on position and the polit lights were still on. The polits were all tuned off at the valves due to not needed due to seasonal and the polit lights won't have to be turned back on. The line test and survey of the property all passed with S.W.G. and the boiler was turned back on to the building. All the breakers were turned back on the building except unit 524 and 520. These units were turned off by T.E.P. The management was going to repair the roof so the roof will stop leaking from the rain. The carpet was wet in the closet area from the rain and putting out the fire. The water will start to drip to the bottom floor and will need to be protected from getting wet. The management will get something to cover the items in the closet and the bedroom. The tenants were placed in other units on the property until the repairs can be made. Will take the area inspector to look at the damage. Will be on site on Monday to check other units and compliants from this inspection. RV.
