Receive call from communication that T.P.D. on site with electrical issues and the wrought iron needs to be checked on the windows. Arrived and did check the electrical system where added for lighting to the second floor and went into a sub-panel and had transformers added to the wall on the second floor for boosting of power to lighting hanging from the ceiling. The transformer had outlets where the lighting was plugging into to have power. Had extension cords laying on the floor connected to other item in the room on the second floor. A hole was made through the wall to the exterior and connected to the main electrical service panel. The wiring was not in conduit and not rated for exterior use. A hole was made at the bottom of the panel to gain entry into the panel to make a connection at a breaker. All the wiring and the sub-panel added with the boosters need to be permitted if to remain and inspected by Planning and Development Services Department. The tenant has been removed from the property leaving the structure unsecured. Not able to make contact with the owner and will do a posting of a vacant and unsecured with posting of "Do Not Enter" "Unsafe to occupy". Was able to get the property secured and turn all the power off at the breakers and called T.E.P. to pull the meter due to unsafe electrical with the added items on the wall on the second floor and the extension cords on the floor. T.E.P. will pull the meter in the morning and let them know that the breakers will be turned off. Will try and make contact with the owner. RV. |
