06/08/2012 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved I had a look at this area today and the complainant is referring to the natural desert vegetation along Avenida Los Reyes.
There is a small amount of fountain grass or buffel grass which appears to be naturally occurring. All other vegetation is green, alive and native to the area.
There is no infrastructure whatsoever, sidewalks, street lighting, etc. other than paved roads throughout the neighborhoods. It's really quite rural.
I'm believe that COT Transportation might be responsible for the maintenance of this vegetation, what the complainant is concerned about seems to be in the right of way. I arrive at that conclusion by review of aerial maps and my physical inspection of the area.
Additionally I do not feel any"Sight Visibility Triangle" issues exist but an official determination by Trans would be necessary to arrive at a conclusion on that.
My recommendation is referring this to Trans for anSVTevaluation and if they feel there is a problem then they could schedule a crew to trim the vegetation back to clear any obstruction.
I'll leave my case open until we hear back from Transportation and act accordingly at that time.
