04/11/2012 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved VISITED SITE, KNOCKED ON DOOR, MET TENANT, DISCUSSED WHY I WAS THERE AND THAT I NEEDED TO DO AN INSPECTION DUE TO A COMPLAINT THA I HAD RECEIVED, TENANT LET ME IN, INSPECTED, FOUND AS FOLLOWS, EXTENSION CORDS BACK FEEDING OUTLETS, OPEN AND UNSECURED OUTLETS, SWITCHES, AND LIGHT FIXTURES, WENT TO THE EXTERIOR AND FOUND AN A EXTENSION CORD FOR THE MAIN SUPPLY FOR THE SUB PANEL, ALSO THE TENANT HAD MADE A STATEMENT THAT THE HOT WATER HAD BEEN REPLACED, I THEN EXPLAINED TO THE TENANT THAT THE UNIT WOULD PROBABLY BE CONDEMNED AND THAT I HAD TO CONTACT SUPERVISION AND HAVE HIM COME OVER AND SEE THE HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROPERTY, I THEN CALLED MY SUPERVISOR AND HAD HIM COME OVER TO INSPECT UNIT, SUPERVISOR THEN SHOWED UP AND WE MADE A DETERMINATION ON WHAT THE STATUS OF THE UNIT PRESENTED, IT WAS DEEMED THAT THE RESIDENCE WAS AN ELECTRICAL HAZARD AND AT THAT POINT WAS CONDEMNED, I THEN CONTACTED THE MANAGERS OF THE COMPLEX, AND EXPLAINED TO THEM THE CIRCUMSTANCES ON THE UNIT, AND THAT THE NEEDED TO MEET ME ON SITE AND REMOVE THE TENANTS, THERE WERE THREE TENANTS THAT NEEDED TO BE PLACED, UPON INSPECTION FOUND THAT THE UNIT WAS A FIVE BEDROOM TWO BATHROOM, IT WAS MODIFIED WITH OUT PERMIT AND CONVERTED, THE WILL HAVE TO SECURE PERMITS NAD RECIEVE A FINAL FOR THE RESIDENCE, I THEN INSPECTED SECONDARY UNIT AND IT WAS ALSO DEEMED UNSAFE ELECTRICAL ISSUES ON UNIT, BOTH UNITS WERE CONDEMNED AT THAT POINT, EXPLAINED THIS TO THE MANAGERS AND HAD THEM SIGN A NOTICE OF VIOLATION AND A CONDEMNATION TO THE UNITS THAT THE NEED TO SECURE PERMITS AND RECIEVE A FINAL FOR ALL ELECTRICAL ON BOTH UNITS, AND GAVE COPY TO MANAGERS, GAVE THIRTY DAYS TO GET ABATED
