01/09/2012 | INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT | Approved | Electrical fire at small trailer unit on property. Damage limited to small area where refrigerator unit was located on the interior. Further inspection identified trailer was hazardously connected to the main electrical panel via an extension cord. The cord was wired into the panel through an added outlet on the panel door that was double lugged into the panel. TEP was contacted and cut service due to hazardous nature of the wiring. Additional electrical fixtures and wiring inside the unit do not comply with adopted code and installation practices. No permits on file for electrical work as expected. Unit was posted to vacate; tenant signed paperwork and was referred to Red Cross. Owner was called and advised. Inspection of the property at large also identified several junked vehicles, trailer, mobile home, refuse, accumulation of vegetation, and 3 dilapidated structures. Parcel is a large lot at 2.6 acres; vehicles and structures are set back from street. However, front chain link is not screened. There is an additional SFR structure towards the front of the lot that is in good apparent condition, but is vacant. The tenant in the trailer was the only occupant on the entire parcel. |
