Reference: 2006 UPC 1211.1.2 (A) Underground piping systems shall be installed with a minimum of 18" of cover. Where external damage is not likely to result, the minimum cover shall be 12". Where a minimum of 12" of cover cannot be provide, the pipe shall be installed in a conduit, or shielded. NFPA 54: 7.1.2.1 2. Reference: 2006 UPC: 1211.1.7 (C) An electrically continuous corrosion resistant tracer wire (minimum AWG 14) or tape shall be buried with the plastic pipe to facilitate locating. One end shall be brought above ground at a building wall or riser. NFPA 54: 7.1.7.3 House Bill 2256. Note. Only one tracer was provided for two services. Tracer wire did not extend to above grade. Was a manual shut off valve provided at each building? These corrections only address concerns of Southwest gas, and are not intended to be a complete reinspection. |
