04/18/2011 INSP - REINSPECTION Correction Required Had a phone conversation with Mr. Green about the requirements for storage of plastics when completely wrapped in plastic packaging all four sides and top and bottom and using plastic pallets. Also sent the following e-mail to him:
Here's the list of sprinkler companies, not all have the expertise only
a few so need to ask if they can do the analysis and work out the
storage problems. You can also look in the phone under book Fire
Protection Consultants or Google.
04/15/2011 INSP - REINSPECTION Correction Required Received a e-mail stating the following:
Dear Sir,

I am the General Manager of Carclo Technical Plastics and would welcome
the opportunity to discuss the attached letter that you sent on 4/12/11.
Specifically, given that we have operated in a similar fashion in that
facility for the past 15 years, I am interested to understand what may
have changed that now supersedes the design intent of our sprinkler
system. Perhaps a relatively simple adjustment to our work practices can
avoid a much more expensive change to the system itself.

Please replay or call at you earliest convenience.

Regards

Phil Green

04/11/2011 INSP - REINSPECTION Correction Required March 29, 2011 met with Mr. Myers plant foreman, we walked the areas in question and then he asked me to walk with him to the riser area for he had questions about the tags. While walking in the warehouse area it was noticed that storage has changed to plastic pallets and encapsulated expanded plastic materials in rack storage and pallets at or over 14 feet in height, after looking at the design cal plates on the riser it's determined and a letter sent via e-mail on April 11, 2011 stating that the sprinkler system is not designed for the storage they have in the warehouse. Carclo Technical Plastics Company will need to hire a outside company with expertise in designing sprinkler system for high piled plastic storage.
