Exception: 1. Where a steel or tempered glass baffle plate is installed at a minimum 8 inches (203 mm) in height between the fryer and surface flames of the adjacent cooking appliance, the requirement for a 16 inch space shall not apply. Where the fryer and the surface flames of the adjacent cooking appliance are at different horizontal planes, the minimum height of 8 inches (203 mm) shall be measured from the higher of the two. _____1. The deep fat fryer shall be separated from the open flame gas range and shall meet the separation requirements in this code. |
