TFC 703.1 - Maintenance
The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, fire stops, shaft enclosures, partitions and floors) shall be maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated. Openings made therein for the passage of pipes, electrical conduit, wires, ducts, air transfer openings, and holes made for any reason shall be protected with approved methods capable of resisting the passage of smoke and fire.

TFC 906.2 - General requirements.
Portable fire extinguishers shall be selected, installed and maintained in accordance with this section and NFPA 10. (Professional maintenance yearly, manual inspection monthly, affix a tag to the extinguisher with records of these activities.)

TFC 904.11.6.4 - Extinguishing system service.
Automatic fire-extinguishing systems shall be serviced at least every 6 months and after activation of the system. Inspection shall be by qualified individuals, and a certificate of inspection shall be forwarded to the fire code official upon completion.

TFC 904.11.6.3 - Cleaning.
Hoods, grease-removal devices, fans, ducts and other appurtenances shall be cleaned at intervals necessary to prevent the accumulation of (dust). Cleanings shall be recorded, and records shall state the extent, time and date of cleaning. Such records shall be maintained on the premises.

Electrical appliances and fixtures shall be tested and listed in published reports of inspected electrical equipment by an approved agency and installed and maintained in accordance with all instructions included as part of such listing.
TFC 605.8 - Electrical motors. Electrical motors shall be maintained free from excessive accumulations of oil, dirt, waste and debris.
