Dear Mr. Sutton

The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business on February 22, 2010. Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). A Re-inspection will be performed on or about March 8, 2010.

Notice of Violations:

1. _____ 1008.1.8.3 # 2.2Locks and latches. Locks and latches shall be permitted to prevent operation of doors where any of the following exits:
-A readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. The sign shall be in letters 1 inch (25mm)high on a contrasting background.

Required Action: Provide the proper signage on the main front entrance

2. _____ 1006.3 Illumination emergency power. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the premise's electrical supply. In the event of power supply failure, back-up power shall be supplied

Required Action: All emergency back-up lighting shall operate:
- SE corner of first floor
- SW (top of stairs)
- Fix broken exit sign hanging from wiring in basement
- Emergency light North Mezzanine (Middle)

3. _____ 605.6 Unapproved conditions. Open junction boxes and open-wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and electrical outlet boxes.

Required Action: Abate all electrical hazards
- Place blanks in the electrical panel "B" in the brazing areas near the sink
- Replace missing electrical outlet coves across from the bathroom (SW first floor)
- Repair electrical wiring the "Flute room." Currently the wiring does not terminate in a box and the light switch has Romex with wire nuts exposed and electrical tape)
- Replace missing J-box cover in the basement (East Wall)

4. _____ 2703.5.1 Markings. Individual containers, cartons or packages shall be conspicuously marked or labeled in an approved manner. Rooms or cabinets containing compressed gases shall be conspicuously labeled:

Required Action: Properly label and store your container of vinegar.
- There is approx. 30 container used as a dip tank. Properly label the container as to the contents

5. _____ 315.2.4 Attic, under-floor and concealed spaces. Attic, under-floor and concealed spaces used for storage of combustible materials shall be protected on the storage side as required for 1-hour fire-resistance-rated construction. Openings shall be protected by assemblies that are self-closing and are of noncombustible construction or solid wood core not less than 1.75 inches (44.5 mm) in thickness.

Required Action: Do not store combustibles under the exit stairway from South Mezzanine.
