02/08/2011 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | Approved | VISITED SITE WITH INPSECTOR HECTOR LOPEZ, FIRST WALKED THE PERIMETER OF THE STRUCTURE STARTING AT GRIMALDI'S PIZZA, FOUND ONLY BACKGROUND MUSIC BEING PLAYED LOW AT GRIMALDI'S, WALKED TO THE EAST SIDE OR FRONT OF SAM HUGHES PLACE, DOORS WERE CLOSED AND SPEAKERS TURNED OFF IN THE FRONT. MUSIC WHEN DOORS WERE OPENED COULD ONLY BE SPARSELY HEARD BECAUSE OF THE NOISE FROM THE WATER FALL IN FRONT OF THE DOORS. WE WALKED AROUND TO THE NORTH SIDE WHERE THE OUTDOOR DINING AREA IS LOCATED AND FOUND THE MUSIC TURNED OFF TO THAT AREA ALSO. WALKED TO THE N/E CORNER DOORS, MUSIC TURNED OFF AND DOORS WERE CLOSED. MUSIC INSIDE COULD NOT BE HEARD OVER A NORMAL CONVERSATION FROM THIS AREA. HERE WE MET WITH MANAGER JASON MACHMAMER WHO TOOK US INSIDE, SHOWED US THREE VENTS, TWO IN THE DINING AREA, AND ONE NEAR THE ICE MACHINE WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT SOUND MAY BE TRAVELING UP TO THE UPPER FLOORS THRU THE VENTS AND MANAGEMENT HAD THOSE VENTS CLOSED OFF. JASON ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE SOUND INSIDE HAD BEEN TURNED DOWN FROM A VOLUME OF "90" DOWN TO "65", NEARLY 30 %. WE THEN WERE TAKEN UP TO THE 2ND AND 3RD FLOORS. WE ENTERED THE 2ND FLOOR HALLWAY FROM THE ELEVATOR AND AGAIN MUSIC COULD NOT BE HEARD OVER THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN JASON, HECTOR, AND I, AND HECTOR AND I NEEDED TO STOP AND BE QUIET TO ACTUALLY HEAR THE MUSIC FROM BELOW. CONVERSATIONS COMING FROM THE APARTMENTS COULD BE HEARD OVER THE MUSIC. ENTERING THE 3RD FLOOR AND THEN ONTO THE BALCONY WE COULD NOT HEAR MUSIC, ONLY THE SOUND OF THE FOUNTAIN IN FRONT. WE WALKED BACK INTO THE 3RD FLOOR HALL AND THE MUSIC COULD NOT BE HEARD OVER THE PARTY BEING HELD IN UNIT #306. OUR FINDINGS WERE DISCUSSED WITH TRACY WILLIAMS ON 2/09/2011. A FOLLOW UP INSPECTION WILL BE CONDUCTED ON WEDNESDAY 4/13/2011. | |
