Dear Mr. Coomes,

The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business on December 14, 2009. Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). A Re-inspection will be performed on or about December 28, 2009.

Notice of Violations:
1. _____ 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective.

Required Action: All fire extinguishers shall be tested annually.

2. _____ 1006.3 Illumination emergency power. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the premise's electrical supply. In the event of power supply failure, back-up power shall be supplied

Required Action: Emergency back-up lighting shall operate (East wall).

3. _____ 2703.4 Material Safety Data Sheets. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) shall be readily available on the premises for hazardous materials regulated by this chapter. When a hazardous substance is developed in a laboratory, available information shall be documented.

Required Action: Train all employees on the hazardous communications program

4. _____ 3403.5.3 Warning labels. Individual containers, packages and cartons shall be identified, marked, labeled and placarded in accordance with federal regulations and applicable state laws.

Required Action: Label all 55 gallon drum to indicate their contents.
