Stocker Tucson, AZ. 85710 Dear Mr. Delaney The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business on December 10, 2009. Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). A Re-inspection will be performed on or about December 28, 2009. Notice of Violations: 1. _____ 505.1 Address numbers. New and existing buildings shall have approved address numbers, building numbers or approved building identification placed in a position that is plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property: Pima County Addressing Code: >50 feet from the road: 15 inches <50 feet from the road: 12 inches Individual units: 3 inches Required Action: Provide address meeting the Pima County Addressing Code of 12 inches in height 2. _____ 605.5 Extension Cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances. Required Action: Remove the extension cord going to the fridge 3. _____ 105.6.16 #3 Flammable and combustible liquids. An operational permit is required to… store, handle or use Class II or Class IIIA or class IIIB liquids in excess of 25 gallons (95 L) in a building or in excess of 60 gallons (227 L) outside a building, except for fuel oil used in connection with oil-burning equipment. Required Action: Obtain a permit for your aboveground storage tanks (handout provided) 4. _____ 2703.5.1 Markings. Individual containers, cartons or packages shall be conspicuously marked or labeled in an approved manner. Rooms or cabinets containing compressed gases shall be conspicuously labeled: Required Action: Label all 55 gallon drums to communicate their contents 5. _____ 605.6 Unapproved conditions. Open junction boxes and open-wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and electrical outlet boxes. Required action: - Replace missing electrical cover plate outside near the pump. - Replace cover plate behind the lathe - Replace cover plate near West extinguisher - Rplace covers on electrical panel behind parts cleaner 6. _____ 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. Nonrequired fire protection systems and equipment shall be inspected, tested and maintained or removed. Required Action: All fire extinguisher shall be serviced annually. (Currently the extinguishers are tagged 2000) 7. _____ 3405.3.6.2.7 Cleaning with Flammable Liquids: Installation. Machines shall be installed in accordance with their listings.
