Dear Sir or Madam,

The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business on 10-27-2009. Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code with modifications. A Re-inspection will be performed on or about 11-12-2009.


906.9 Height above floor. Portable fire extinguishers having a gross weight not exceeding 40 pounds (18 kg) shall be installed so that its top is not more than 5 feet (1524 mm) above the floor. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers having a gross weight exceeding 40 pounds (18 kg) shall be installed so that its top is not more than 3.5 feet (1067 mm) above the floor. The clearance between the floor and the bottom of installed hand-held extinguishers shall not be less than 4 inches (102 mm).

" Mount the extinguishers in accordance with the above standards in a visible location. ( The front extinguisher needs to be mounted in a visible location)

1003.6 Means of egress continuity. The path of egress travel along a means of egress shall not be interrupted by any building element other than a means of egress component as specified in this chapter. Obstructions shall not be placed in the required width of a means of egress except projections permitted by this chapter. The required capacity of a means of egress system shall not be diminished along the path of egress travel.

" Keep the rear exit door clear of obstructions.

1011.4 Internally illuminated exit signs. Internally illuminated exit signs shall be listed and labeled and shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and Section 2702 of the International Building Code. Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times.

" The exit sign in on the rear door is not working. Please repair or replace the sign to ensure it is lit at all times and has a minimum of a 90 minute back up power source.

605.3Working space and clearance. A working space of not less than 30 inches (762 mm) in width, 36 inches (914 mm) in depth and 78 inches (1981 mm) in height shall be provided in front of electrical service equipment.

" Maintain the area in front of the breaker panels
