10/26/2009 | INSP - FULL | Correction Required | FIRE INSPECTION REPORT A/P/D:T09FRO3371 October 26, 2009 Naughton's Plumbing ATTN: Kyle Reber 8190 E. 22nd St. Tucson, AZ. 85710 Dear Mr. Reber The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business on October 26, 2009. Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). A Re-inspection will be performed on or about November 9, 2009. Notice of Violations: 1._____ 1006.1 Illumination required. The means of egress, shall be illuminated at all times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied. -Required Correction: Exit signs shall operate by battery back-up throughout the business. 2._____ 1006.3 Illumination emergency power. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the premise's electrical supply. In the event of power supply failure, back-up power shall be supplied. - Required Correction: All back-up emergency lights shall operate. 3._____ 605.5 Extension Cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances: - Required Correction: Remove extension cords: i.Behind soda machine ii. In managers office: 1. going to cooler 2. behind security equipment 4. _____ 703.1 Maintenance. The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, fire stops, shaft enclosures, partitions and floors) shall be maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated. - Required Correction: i.Replace all missing ceiling tiles 5. ____ 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. - Required Correction: i.Test sprinkler system and send results to the fire department ii. Provide caps on the connections outside iii. All fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually (Last 2005). 6. _____ 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the code official responsible for enforcement of the ICC Electrical Code. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used: - Required Correction: Replace the broken cover plate in the break room (North wall). 7._____ 1008.1.9 #2 Panic and fire exit hardware. Where panic and fire exit hardware is installed, it shall comply with the following: A maximum unlatching force of 15 pounds (67 N). - Required Correction: Northwest door shall be openable from the egress side when less than 15lbs of force is applied to the latch side.
