Solomon Tucson, AZ. 85747 RE: Unauthorized Release of Hazardous Materials Dear Mrs. Amber Thomson: On the above date, in response to a complaint received by this Office, an inspector was dispatched to your property. During the inspection it was noted that there was an unauthorized release of hazardous material at the above address. The hazardous material was identified as oil. The Tucson Fire Code, Section 2703.3/ 2703.3.1.4 states: "Hazardous material is any quantity shall not be released into a sewer, storm drain, ditch, drainage canal, creek, stream, river, lake, tidal waterway, or on the ground, sidewalk, street, highway or into the atmosphere." "Any person, firm or corporation responsible for any unauthorized discharge shall institute and complete all actions necessary to remedy the effects of such unauthorized discharge at no cost to the jurisdiction." The Tucson Fire Department has the responsibility of enforcing the fire code, as well as assisting the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality investigate violations of environmental regulations. As the property owner, it is your responsibility to initiate and complete the clean-up of all contaminated area. A re-inspection will be conducted on or around October 15, 2009.
