-- 2. In buildings in occupancy Group A having an occupant load of 300 or less, Groups B, F, M and S, and in places of religious worship, the main exterior door or doors are permitted to be equipped with key-operated locking devices from the egress
side provided:
-- 2.1. The locking device is readily distinguishable as locked,
-- 2.2. A readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. The sign shall be in letters 1 inch (25 mm) high on a contrasting background,
-- 2.3. The use of the key-operated locking device is revokable by the fire code official for due cause.

_____ Place the wording "THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED" visibly above your main
egress door.

1008.1.9 Panic and fire exit hardware.
Where panic and fire exit hardware is installed, it shall comply with the following:
1. The actuating portion of the releasing device shall extend at least one-half of door leaf width.
2. The maximum unlatching force shall not exceed 15 pounds (67 N).
3. No additional locks or latches shall be added

1008.1.8.5 Unlatching.
The unlatching of any door or leaf shall not require more than one operation.

_____ The front main entrance door secondary locking device shall be disabled or replaced to meet code standards. I.E. the lock shall release when twisted from the interior side.

1008.1.8 Door operations.
Except as specifically permitted by this section egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort.

_____ Remove the double-key lock and replace with an approved locking device such as, thumb turn lock or leave only the panic hardware. (Back N/W door)
