| 06/12/2009 | INSP - FULL | Approved | Complaint came in from a Captian from station 20: *** Gentlemen this is in regards to a concern we have at the Wal-Mart shopping complex at First and Wetmore. On the east side of the complex there is some renovations going on and they have a Roll-off dumpster for the trash from that project. The dumpster open to the building and I think it is too close to the building. We have already had two trash fires in that unit. So I was wondering if you could investigate this and see if the unit can be moved further away. My concern is that if there is another fire it will involve the building. Thank you for looking into this.*** After further investigation, the dumpster was five feet away from the building's eves (which are sprinklered) which is code compliant. Me and the supervisor discussed ways to make it more "safe", but at this time the complaint is not valid. No further information is available and no follow up is needed. |
