06/03/2009 | INSP - FULL | Approved | The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business . Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). 1.__Problem: The numbers on your address blend in with the building color because they were painted. TFC: 505.1 Address numbers. New and existing buildings shall have approved address numbers, building numbers or approved building identification placed in a position that is plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property. CORRECTION: You will paint the numbers in your address to be in high contrast with your building color and so that they are legible from the street. 2.__Problem: Your East and West lobby exit signs are not lighting up on battery back up power when tested. TFC: 1011.4 Exit signs shall be illuminated at all times. CORRECTION: You will cause your exit signs to light up off of battery back up power. 3.__Problem: Your emergency lights are not working and/or have burnt out bulbs. TFC: 1006.1 Illumination required. The means of egress, including the exit discharge, shall be illuminated at all times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied. CORRECTION: You will cause your emergency lights in the lobby and the womens rest room area to light when tested ( replace bulbs). 4.__Problem: You must show proof of your 6 month inspection/maintenance of your commercial cooking suppression system. TFC 904.11.6.4 Extinguishing system service. Automatic fire-extinguishing systems shall be serviced at least every 6 months and after activation of the system. Inspection shall be by qualified individuals, and a certificate of inspection shall be forwarded to the fire code official upon completion. CORRECTION: You will provide the fire code official a copy of your last 6 monthes service report. 5.__Problem: Extension cord is running through ceiling tiles above the number #1 drive through window. TFC: 605.5 Extension cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. CORRECTION: Remove the extension cord that is running through the ceiling tiles and find another (acceptable) way to power what ever is currently powered by that cord. 6.__Problem: Your exit path to your rear kitchen exit is blocked with a cart full of trash. TFC 1015.2 Exit or exit access doorway arrangement. Required exits shall be located in a manner that makes their availability obvious. Exits shall be unobstructed at all times. CORRECTION: You keep your exit path to your door free of obstructions at all times. ( Was cleared immediately before I left the building) 7.__Problem: There are push mops and brooms stored ( jam packed) into a small space between a shelf and the hotwater heater and too near to the pilot light. TFC: 315.2 Storage shall be separated from heaters or heating devices by distance or shielding so that ignition cannot occur. CORRECTION: You will remove combustibles that are too close to pilot light and continue to keep this area clear of combustibles. ( was accomplished before I left the building) 8.__Problem: Your electric panels have open wires and an open fuse where the switch is missing. Your panel in the office has a loose faceplate. TFC: IFC 605.6 Unapproved conditions. Open junction boxes and open-wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and electrical outlet boxes. CORRECTION: You will place blanks where ever there is an open wiring splice or circuit, fuse, etc. You will secure the faceplate to the loose electric panel. 9.__Problem: TFC: 315.2.1 Ceiling clearance. Storage shall be maintained 2 feet (610 mm) or more below the ceiling in nonsprinklered areas of buildings or a minimum of 18 inches (457 mm) below sprinkler head deflectors in sprinklered areas of buildings. CORRECTION: You will keep your stock 24 inches below the ceiling tiles in all storage areas.
