Please make the indicated corrections: TFC 605.3 - Working space and clearance. A working space of not less than 30 inches in width, 36 inches in depth and 78 inches in height shall be provided in front of electrical service equipment. _____ Clear area around electrical panel in workroom. TFC 605.5 - Extension cords Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances. _____ Remove extension cord and/or replace with approved permanent electrical power source - behind dryers. TFC 304.1 Waste accumulation prohibited Combustible waste material creating a fire hazard shall not be allowed to accumulate in buildings or structures or upon premises. _____ Clean out dryer vents and ducts as necessary to remove accumulation of combustible dust and lint. _____ Clean dryer lint screens after every use. TFC 315.2 - Storage in buildings. Storage of combustible materials in buildings shall be orderly. Storage shall be separated from heaters or heating devices by distance or shielding so that ignition cannot occur. _____ Clean up work room, TFC 3404.3.3 - Indoor storage. Storage of flammable and combustible liquids inside buildings in containers and portable tanks shall be in accordance with this section. TFC 3404.3.3.1 - Portable fire extinguishers. Approved portable fire extinguishers shall be provided in accordance with specific sections of this chapter and Section 906. _____ Have approved extinguisher in workroom serviced and tagged. TFC 3404.3.3.3 Clear means of egress. Storage of any liquids… shall not be stored near or be allowed to obstruct physically the route of egress. _____ Remove flammable and combustible liquids from door area - work room. TFC 3404.3.3.5.3 Orderly storage. Shelf storage of flammable and combustible liquids shall be maintained in an orderly manner. _____ Store flammable and combustible liquids on shelves TFC 407.2 - Material Safety Data Sheets Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all hazardous materials shall be readily available on the premises. _____ Provide MSDS for all hazardous materials kept on the premises. TFC 2703.5 - Hazard identification signs. Unless otherwise exempted by the fire code official, visible hazard identification signs as specified in NFPA 704 for the specific material contained shall be placed on stationary containers and above-ground tanks and at entrances to locations where hazardous materials are stored, dispensed, used or handled in quantities requiring a permit and at specific entrances and locations designated by the fire code official. _____ Post "Flammables" sign on workroom door. _____ Post "Corrosives" sign on workroom door. _____ Post "No Smoking" sign on workroom door. TFC 703.1 - Maintenance The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, fire stops, shaft enclosures, partitions and floors) shall be maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated. Openings made therein for the passage of pipes, electrical conduit, wires, ducts, air transfer openings, and holes made for any reason shall be protected with approved methods capable of resisting the passage of smoke and fire. _____ Repair ceiling and walls - workroom TFC 605.4.1 - Power tap design. Relocatable power taps shall be of the polarized or grounded type, equipped with overcurrent protection, and shall be listed in accordance with UL 1363. _____ Remove unapproved power tap - counter in office. _____ Remove unapproved power tap - behind water cooler in office. _____ Remove unapproved power tap - ceiling behind dryers. TFC 107.1 - Maintenance of safeguards. Whenever or wherever any device, equipment, system, condition, arrangement, level of protection, or any other feature is required for compliance with the provisions of this code, or otherwise installed, such device, equipment, system, condition, arrangement, level of protection, or other feature shall thereafter be continuously maintained in accordance with this code and applicable referenced standards. _____ Repair/replace battery in smoke detector - Office _____ Repair/replace battery in smoke detector - Unit 528 _____ Repair/replace battery in smoke detector - All other units as necessary _____ Repair/replace battery in smoke detector - Laundry _____ Repair extinguisher cabinet - Laundry _____ Repair extinguisher cabinet - outside Unit 602 (also: do not allow trash and storage in extinguisher cabinets) TFC 901.6 - Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective.
