04/07/2009 | INSP - LIFE SAFETY | Violation | The automatic fire sprinkler system, fire pump and fire alarm are mandatory for this building. The Tucson Fire Code (modified) states: Section 903.2.10.3 Buildings more than 55 feet in height. The existing subsection is hereby DELETED (in its entirety) and REPLACED with the following: Section 903.2.10.3 Buildings more than two stories. An automatic sprinkler system shall be installed throughout all buildings more than two stories or with a floor level having an occupant load of 30 or more that is located 55 feet or more above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access. Exception: Open parking garages. Automatic sprinkler system shall be maintained as per TFD 901.6 which states; 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. Nonrequired fire protection systems and equipment shall be inspected, tested and maintained or removed. As of this date no system test results have been submitted showing operation of these systems. With this letter a fire watch shall be provided immediately, as per attached guidelines. (IFC 901.7). A re-inspection shall be conducted on April 7, 2009 at 1500 hours to ensure compliance.
