The required capacity of a means of egress system shall not be diminished along the path of egress travel.

03/09/2009 VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS Violation 1011.1 Where required. Exits and exit access doors shall be marked by an approved exit sign readily visible from any direction of egress travel. Access to exits shall be marked by readily visible exit signs in cases where the exit or the path of egress travel is not immediately visible to the occupants. Exit sign placement shall be such that no point in a corridor is more than 100 feet or the listed viewing distance for the sign, whichever is less, from the nearest visible exit sign.

03/09/2009 VIOL - MEANS OF EGRESS Violation 1014.4.1 - Aisles in Groups B and M. In Group B and M occupancies, the minimum clear aisle width shall be determined by Section 1005.1 for the occupant load served, but shall not be less than 36 inches.
Exception: Nonpublic aisles serving less than 50 people and not required to be accessible by Chapter 11 of the International Building Code need not exceed 28 inches in width.
