Correction: You will cause your emergency lighting to operate properly.
02/25/2009 INSP - FULL Violation # 6 Problem: IFC 1008.2 Gates. Gates serving the means of egress system shall comply with the requirements of this section. Gates used as a component in a means of egress shall conform to the applicable requirements for doors.
Problem: IFC IFC 1008.1.8.3 Locks and latches. Locks and latches shall be permitted to prevent operation of doors where any of the following exists: In buildings in occupancy Group A having an occupant load of 300 or less, Groups B, F,Mand S, and in places of religious worship, the main exterior door or doors are permitted to be equipped with key-operated locking devices from the egress side provided: A readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED.
Correction: You will post a sign about your security gates on your East Exits that states: These doors to remain unlocked while the building is occupied. It shall be conspicuous and durable in large enough lettering to be read and in contrast to its background. These signs are already over your exit doors and must be maintained at each door or gate in the path of the main egress.

Correction: You will cause your exit signs to light.
02/25/2009 INSP - FULL Violation # 8 Problem: IFC 315.2 Storage in buildings. Storage of combustible materials in buildings shall be orderly. Storage shall be separated from heaters or heating devices by distance or shielding so that ignition cannot occur.
Correction: Remove Christmas garland/wreaths stored within 1 inch of the ceiling lighting. Heat can cause ignition. Light produces heat.
02/25/2009 INSP - FULL Violation # 9 Problem: IFC 315.2.1 Ceiling clearance. Storage shall be maintained 2 feet (610 mm) or more below the ceiling in nonsprinklered areas of buildings or a minimum of 18 inches (457 mm) below sprinkler head deflectors in sprinklered areas of buildings.
Correction: Remove ladders stored at top of rack storage in stock room. They are stored within inches of the ceiling where there are missing ceiling tiles. This is a good avenue and fuel for firespread into your attic space in the event of a fire.
