| 09/25/2008 | INSP - FULL | Violation | On 9-24-08, a fire prevention inspection was conducted at 1 South Church in Tucson Arizona. It was agreed upon the date of the fire drill shall be determined by 10-29-08. The following Tucson Fire Code Violation(s) was noted: 1). Currently on 23rd floor/closet the sprinkler head is well below 12 inches from ceiling in unobstructed construction. This is in violation of sprinkler installation requirements. I have enclosed this national standard. Currently this is inadequate sprinkler coverage. By 10-29-08 this must correct this. IFC 901.6. NFC 13-4-4.1.4 2). Continue the repairs of the fire alarm system, including the firefighter phone jacks. Confirmation from alarm company shall be required for compliance. IFC 901.6 3). Currently the following exit signs are out of service and shall be repaired. P-1, Stairwell 1, 12th floor, IFC 1028.4 4). Replace ceiling tile 1st Fidelity. IFC 703.1 5). Exit corridor in stairwell 1 has potential and current obstructions, such as boxes. These shall be removed. IFC 1028.5 6). 3rd floor electrical closet: repair hole. IFC 703.1 7). Remove combustible material in stairwell 3, 3rd floor. IFC 1028.5 8). Submit generator-testing records shall be submitted. IFC 604.3.2 9). 28" aisle shall be maintained in FANROOM- IFC 1028. 5 10). Currently there are extinguishers that shall be mounted and tagged with monthly checkout information, these are in: FBI office, 1230, 7th floor lounge. IFC 901.6 11). 11th floor: Currently there is furniture in this exit corridor. This shall be removed. IFC 1028.5 12). 8th floor electrical room Fire resistive ratings shall be maintained in this room. IFC 703.1 13). 14th floor electrical room. Remove obstruction in vent. IFC 703.1 14). Suite 1120 Closet: replace escutcheon in closet. IFC 901.6 15). Currently on the 18th floor there is a cable that is running through the vent, prohibiting the fire damper to close completely. The wire must be removed from vent. IFC 703.1. 16). 5th floor. Replace ceiling tiles. IFC 703.1 This letter is to inform you that abatement of these Tucson Fire Code violations must be completed by 10-29-08. A re-inspection shall be conducted at that time to ensure compliance |
