| 07/30/2008 | INSP - FULL | Correction Required | The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business . Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). ___1. PROBLEM: Power strip "piggy backed" into power strip under counter. TFC REFERENCE: 605.4.2 Power supply. Relocatable power taps shall be directly connected to a permanently installed receptacle. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Power strip must be plugged directly into a power outlet. ___2. PROBLEM: Unapproved grey extension cord leading to weiner cooker is plugged into a power strip. TFC REFERENCE: 605.5 Extension cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Must use approved GFI power strip. Power strip must be plugged into electrical outlet. Or plug weiner cooker directly into electrical outlet. ___3. PROBLEM: Light in restroom is missing a fixture, thus exposing bulb and outlet to possible damage. TFC REFERENCE: 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Replace missing light fixture in restroom. ___4.PROBLEM: Hole in wall in back room. TFC REFERENCE:703.1 Maintenance. The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, firestops, shaft enclosures, partitions, smoke barriers, floors, fire-resistive coatings and sprayed fire-resistant materials applied to structural members and fire-resistant joint systems) shall be maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated. Openings made therein for the passage of pipes, electrical conduit, wires, ducts, air transfer openings and holes made for any reason shall be protected with approved methods capable of resisting the passage of smoke and fire. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have hole in wall repaired with proper fire rated materials. ___5. PROBLEM: Back door which is not an exit needs sign on back indicating door is blocked. TFC REFERENCE: 504.2 ... Exterior doors that have been rendered nonfunctional and that retain a functional door exterior appearance shall have a sign affixed to the exterior side of the door with the words THIS DOOR BLOCKED. The sign shall consist of letters having a principal stroke of not less than 0.75 inch (19.1 mm) wide and at least 6 inches (152 mm) high on a contrasting background. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have proper signage affixed to outside of rear door OR remove outside handle from door. EDUCATIONAL: Inspected propane exchange tanks for signs of use in Meth. production. None found. Discussed with manager and left literature.
