| 04/15/2009 | INSP - FULL | Correction Required | Checked tiles over tire storage in recheck. They were wet in last storm and are down again. Management has a roofer fixing the leak starting Sunday. I gave them two more weeks to have leak fixed and tiles in place. Every recheck has had the same issues. The tiles go up, and water leaks during storms bring them down. | |
| 08/21/2008 | INSP - FULL | Correction Required | Added violation: In order to store tires in the back storage room the sprinkler sysytem must be properly designed with proper sized piping for adequate coverage for such materials as tires. (IFC 901.6) Have a sprinkler contracter examine and submit plans and make necessary alterations. | |
| 08/20/2008 | INSP - FULL | Correction Required | Spoke with manager regarding tire storage in back room. Researched sprinkler system down town and discussed with Harvey Brown. email correspondance as follows: Please do not store tires here unless the piping is changed. The piping in this area is sized for Light Hazard (.10 GPM per square foot). This is less then a third of the demand for the tire storage area. Just wouldn't be comfortable the sprinkler system might not be overwhelmed by an incident. Would need a (sprinkler) contractor to submit a plan and new hydraulic calculations to verify the size of piping required for tire storage. Thanks >>> John Bezel 08/20/2008 2:39 PM >>> I have a question I meant to ask you yesterday. Regarding the Discount tire place wanting to store tires on racks in that one room that has too small of a sprinkler main. They cannot store tires on racks back there, but can they store tires in neat stacks on the floor back there as long as sprinkler head clearance is adequate? Or are they not allowed to store any tires back there at all until the sprinkler piping is changed? They currently store tires back there, but they would prefer to put them on racks. Thanks. Will F/U. Gave report to Inspector Sprenger. Inspecter Sprenger to take over case. |
