| 07/21/2008 | VIOL - FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS | Correction Required | The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a hood suppression system inspection at the above stated business . Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). ___1. PROBLEM: Hood sytem is out of compliance with currwnt fire code. TFC REFERENCE: 904.11 Commercial cooking systems. The automatic fire-extinguishing system for commercial cooking systems shall be of a type recognized for protection of commercial cooking equipment and exhaust systems of the type and arrangement protected. Preengineered automatic dry- and wet-chemical extinguishing systems shall be tested in accordance with UL 300 and listed and labeled for the intended application. Other types of automatic fire-extinguishing systems shall be listed and labeled for specific use as protection for commercial cooking operations. The system shall be installed in accordance with this code, REQUIRED CORRECTION: System is currently a dry chem. extinguishing system and is due for hydrostatic testing according to S and M, the company that services your hood. According to the City of Tucson Fire Marshal Chief Uthe, You must replace system with UL 300 compliant system in accordance with the 2006 IFC. ___2. PROBLEM: Service records not available for inspection premises. TFC REFERENCE: 901.6.2 Records. Records of all system inspections, tests and maintenance required by the referenced standards shall be maintained on the premises for a minimum of three years and shall be copied to the fire code official upon request. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Keep a file on the premises of any and all service records on the hood suppression system as outlined above.
