Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). ___1. PROBLEM: Doors with double keyed locks need signs above doors. TFC REFERENCE: 1008.1.8.3.2.2. Locks and latches. Locks and latches shal be permitted to prevent operation of doors where any of the following exists: A readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. The sign shall be in letters 1 inch (25 mm) high on a contrasting background, REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have above indicated signs placed above doors. ___2. PROBLEM: Portable fire extinguisher behind counter has expired inspection tag. TFC REFERENCE: 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have qualified individual inspect portable fire extinguisher. ___3. PROBLEM: Portable fire extinguisher behind counter is kept in cupboard. TFC REFERENCE: 906.5 Conspicuous location. Portable fire extinguishers shall be located in conspicuous locations where they will be readily accessible and immediately available for use. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Place portable fire extinguisher in readily visible location. ___4. PROBLEM: Fire extinguisher is not on a bracket. TFC REFERENCE: 906.7 Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Place fire extinguisher in visible location and mounted on a bracket.
