Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). ___1. PROBLEM: Portable fire extinguisher missing yearly service tag. TFC REFERENCE: 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have qualified individual service portable fire extinguisher yearly. Service tag must be displayed on extinguisher. ___2. PROBLEM: Tanks of compressed gas on floor in back room need to be secured from falling over. TFC REFERENCE: 3003.5.3 Securing compressed gas containers, cylinders and tanks. Compressed gas containers, cylinders and tanks shall be secured to prevent falling caused by contact, vibration or seismic activity. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Secure compressed gas cylinders from falling over. ___3. PROBLEM: Front exit has double keyed lock without required sign above door. TFC REFERENCE:1008.1.8.3.2.2. A readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. The sign shall be in letters 1 inch (25 mm) high on a contrasting background. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have above mentioned sign placed above door. ___4. PROBLEM: Exit in back of store has roll down security screen preventing door from being immediately opened in an emergency. switch must be activated and occupant must wait for door to open before exit is attainable. TFC REFERENCE: 1008.1.8 Door operations. Except as specifically permitted by this section egress doors shall be readily openable from the egress side without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Remove exit sign from above door. This is not a required exit.
