Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). ___1. PROBLEM: Rear exit has small fenced in area which is locked thus preventing exit away from building in the event of an emergency. TFC REFERENCE: 503.6 Security gates. Where security gates are installed, they shall have an approved means of emergency operation. The security gates and the emergency operation shall be maintained operational at all times. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Keep outside back gate unlocked while business is occupied . ___2. PROBLEM: Power strip "piggy-backed" onto another power strip above desk. TFC REFERENCE: 605.4.2 Power supply. Relocatable power taps shall be directly connected to a permanently installed receptacle. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Plug power strip directly into power outlet. ___3. PROBLEM: Emergency lighting unit near freezer does not work properly. TFC REFERENCE: 1006.1 Illumination required. The means of egress, including the exit discharge, shall be illuminated at all times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have emergency lighting unit repaired. ___4. PROBLEM: Class K Fire extinguisher is in the wrong location. TFC REFERENCE: 904.11.5.2 Class K portable fire extinguishers for deep fat fryers. When hazard areas include deep fat fryers, listed Class K portable fire extinguishers shall be provided... REQUIRED CORRECTION: Switch Class K portable fire extinguisher with ABC extinguisher near fryer.
