Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications).

___1. PROBLEM: Front (main) entrance has a double keyed lock with no sign indicating that door to remain unlocked while occupied.
TFC REFERENCE: 1008.1.8.3.2.2. A readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS
OCCUPIED. The sign shall be in letters 1 inch (25 mm) high on a contrasting background,
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Affix sign (as per outlined above) above main entrance..

___2. PROBLEM: Hole in wall behind water cooler.
TFC REFERENCE: 703.1 Maintenance. The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, firestops,
shaft enclosures, partitions, smoke barriers, floors, fire-resistive
coatings and sprayed fire-resistant materials applied to
structural members and fire-resistant joint systems) shall be
maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored
or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated.
Openings made therein for the passage of pipes, electrical conduit,
wires, ducts, air transfer openings and holes made for any
reason shall be protected with approved methods capable of
resisting the passage of smoke and fire.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Repair hole in wall with properly rated dry wall.

___3. PROBLEM: Outlet behind water cooler missing face plate.
TFC REFERENCE: 605.6 Unapproved conditions. Open junction boxes and open-wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and electrical outlet boxes.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have proper face plate placed on electrical outlet.

___4. PROBLEM: Fire extinguishers throughout are on floor.
TFC REFERENCE: 906.7 Hangers and brackets. Hand-held portable fire extinguishers, not housed in cabinets, shall be installed on the
hangers or brackets supplied. Hangers or brackets shall be
securely anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with
the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have all portable fire extinguishers mounted on brackets.

___5. PROBLEM: All fire extinguisher service tags are out of date.
TFC REFERENCE: 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an
operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have fire extinguishers serviced by qualified individual.

___6. PROBLEM: Three drums in small garage and drum outside lacking a label identifying it's contents.
TFC REFERENCE: 2703.5.1 Markings. Individual containers, cartons or packages shall be conspicuously marked or labeled in an approved manner.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Affix labels to above mentioned barrels that identify contents.

___7. PROBLEM: Non required exit that is blocked from the inside needs outside sign indicating door is blocked.
TFC REFERENCE: 504.2 Maintenance of exterior doors and openings. Exterior doors and their function shall not be eliminated without prior approval. Exterior doors that have been rendered nonfunctional and that retain a functional door exterior appearance
shall have a sign affixed to the exterior side of the door with the
words THIS DOOR BLOCKED. The sign shall consist of letters
having a principal stroke of not less than 0.75 inch (19.1
mm) wide and at least 6 inches (152 mm) high on a contrasting
background.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Above mentioned sign shall be affixed to outside of door. Also place exit sign above exit door out of small garage.

___8. PROBLEM: Combustible waste such as wood, weeds etc. accumulating against adjacent building.
TFC REFERENCE: 304.1 Waste accumulation prohibited. Combustible waste material creating a fire hazard shall not be allowed to accumulate in buildings or structures or upon premises.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Properly dispose of combustible waste and remove and properly dispose of weeds.

___9. PROBLEM: Power strip in large garage plugged into orange extension cord.
TFC REFERENCE: 605.4.2 Power supply. Relocatable power taps shall be directly connected to a permanently installed receptacle.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Plug power strip directly into electrical outlet.

___10. PROBLEM: 4 head sprinkler system has not been tested in a number of years.
TFC REFERENCE: 901.6.1 Standards. Fire protection systems shall be inspected, tested and maintained...
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have qualified individual service sprinkler system.
