| 03/24/2008 | INSP - FULL | Correction Required | The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business . Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). ___1. PROBLEM: Certificate of Occupancy not available for inspection. TFC REFERENCE: 105.3.5 Posting the permit. Issued permits shall be kept on the premises designated therein at all times and shall be readily available for inspection by the fire code official. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have Certificate of Occupancy available and posted for Fire Inspector to view. ___2. PROBLEM: Water heater has combustibles stored around base too closely. TFC REFERENCE: 305.1 Clearance from ignition sources. Clearance between ignition sources, such as luminaires, heaters, flame-producing devices and combustible materials, shall be maintained in an approved manner. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Keep area around base of water heater clear of combustible storage. ___3. PROBLEM: Breaker box is missing either a breaker or a blank. TFC REFERENCE: 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the code official responsible for enforcement of the ICC Electrical Code. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Install blank in electrical panel. ___4. PROBLEM: Wooden pallets and horseshoes wit nails present outside behind back door area. The pallets stored up against the building pose a fire hazard and the pile of "used horseshoes" pose a safety hazard. TFC REFERENCE: 304.1.1 Waste material. Accumulations of wastepaper, wood, hay, straw, weeds, litter or combustible or flammable waste or rubbish of any type shall not be permitted to remain on a roof or in any court, yard, vacant lot, alley, parking lot, open space, or beneath a grandstand, bleacher, pier, wharf, manufactured home, recreational vehicle or other similar structure. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Properly dispose of waste accumalation behind building. ___5. PROBLEM: Back east and west doors are not required. Storage resides on the other side. In the event of an emergency Firefighters need to be aware that these doors are not functional. TFC REFERENCE: 504.2 Maintenance of exterior doors and openings. Exterior doors and their function shall not be eliminated without prior approval. Exterior doors that have been rendered nonfunctional and that retain a functional door exterior appearance shall have a sign affixed to the exterior side of the door with the words THIS DOOR BLOCKED. The sign shall consist of letters having a principal stroke of not less than 0.75 inch (19.1 mm) wide and at least 6 inches (152 mm) high on a contrasting background. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Above mentioned signs shall be affixed to the exterior of the back east and west doors.
