03/17/2008 | INSP - FULL | Correction Required | The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business . Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). ___1. PROBLEM: Outlet box plugged into outlet powering scale. TFC REFERENCE:605.4 Multiplug adapters. Multiplug adapters, such as cube adapters, unfused plug strips or any other device not complying with the ICC Electrical Code shall be prohibited. 605.4.1 Power tap design. Relocatable power taps shall be of the polarized or grounded type, equipped with overcurrent protection, and shall be listed in accordance with UL 1363. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Either plug scale into power outlet which is hardwired in or use power strip. ___2. PROBLEM: Slide bolt on back exit door. TFC REFERENCE: 1008.1.8.4 Bolt locks. Manually operated flush bolts or surface bolts are not permitted. REQUIRED CORRECTION: May install thumb turn lock on back exit. Remove slide bolt. ___3. PROBLEM: Power strip "piggy backed " onto another power strip in breakroom under computer. TFC REFERENCE: 605.4.2 Power supply. Relocatable power taps shall be directly connected to a permanently installed receptacle. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Power strip must be directly plugged into outlet. ___4 PROBLEM: Exit sign above side entrance in merchandise area is unlit. TFC REFERENCE: 1011.2 Illumination. Exit signs shall be internally or externally illuminated. REQUIRED CORRECTION: Have exit sign repaired so that it is functional. ___5. PROBLEM: Excessive Dust buildup on some sprinkler heads. TFC REFERENCE: 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective.
