01/14/2008 INSP - FULL Correction Required The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business . Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications).

___1. PROBLEM: Emergency lighting in play room not functioning.
TFC REFERENCE: 1006.1 Illumination required. The means of egress, including the exit discharge, shall be illuminated at all times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied. AND: 604.2.4 Means of egress illumination. Emergency power
shall be provided for means of egress illumination in accordance
with Section 1006.3.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Emergency lighting shall be functional.

___2. PROBLEM: Openings in ceiling in back room.
TFC REFERENCE: 703.1 Maintenance. The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, firestops,
shaft enclosures, partitions, smoke barriers, floors, fire-resistive
coatings and sprayed fire-resistant materials applied to
structural members and fire-resistant joint systems) shall be
maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored
or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated.
Openings made therein for the passage of pipes, electrical conduit,
wires, ducts, air transfer openings and holes made for any
reason shall be protected with approved methods capable of
resisting the passage of smoke and fire.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Replace drop ceilings. Penetrations through ceiling shall be done in such a way as to prevent the passage of fire above the ceiling.

___3. PROBLEM: Back exits have accessibility issues. One is blocked by racks of buns and the other has a waste barrel narrowing the width of the exit pathway.
TFC REFERENCE: 1021.2 Width. The width of exit passageways shall be determined as specified in Section 1005.1 but such width shall not be less than 44 inches (1118 mm), except that exit passageways serving an occupant load of less than 50 shall not be less than 36 inches (914 mm) in width.
The required width of exit passageways shall be unobstructed.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Exit pathways shall be kept clear and exits shall not be obstructed.

___4. PROBLEM: Emergency lighting hanging by wires over back exit. Plug from "Q ing" oven partially plugged in. Open light socket in back room.
TFC REFERENCE: 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of
the code official responsible for enforcement of the ICC Electrical
Code. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other
equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical
shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Missing light bulb in fixture shall be replaced. Emergency lighting unit shall be repaired. Plug from "Q ing" oven shall be properly and securely plugged in.

___5. PROBLEM: Unapproved cube adapters used in office and under middle island.
TFC REFERENCE: 605.4 Multiplug adapters. Multiplug adapters, such as cube adapters, unfused plug strips or any other device not complying with the ICC Electrical Code shall be prohibited. AND:605.4.1 Power tap design. Relocatable power taps shall be
of the polarized or grounded type, equipped with
overcurrent protection, and shall be listed in accordance
with UL 1363.605.4.2 Power supply. Relocatable power taps shall be directly connected to a permanently installed receptacle.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Plug appliances into outlet or approved power strip.

___6. PROBLEM: Electrical plug from bug trap running through ceiling.
TFC REFERENCE: 605.5 Extension cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage
or physical impact.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: cord from bug trap shall not run through the ceiling or a wall.

___7. PROBLEM: Access to electrical panel in back room is blocked by storage.
TFC REFERENCE: 605.3Working space and clearance. A working space of not less than 30 inches (762 mm) in width, 36 inches (914 mm) in depth and 78 inches (1981 mm) in height shall be provided in
front of electrical service equipment. Where the electrical service
equipment is wider than 30 inches (762 mm), the working
space shall not be less than the width of the equipment. No storage
of any materials shall be located within the designated working space.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Provide required clearance around electrical panel.

___8. Fire extinguisher by back exit has no tag and is partially obstructed.
TFC REFERENCE: 901.6 Inspection, testing and maintenance. Fire detection, alarm and extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an
operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or
repaired where defective. Nonrequired fire protection systems
and equipment shall be inspected, tested and maintained or removed. AND: 906.5 Conspicuous location. Portable fire extinguishers shall be located in conspicuous locations where they will be readily accessible and immediately available for use.
REQUIRED CORRECTION: Portable fire extinguisher by exit in back room shall be serviced and be located in a readily visible location or have a readily visible sign on wall pointing to extinguisher.
