11/07/2008 INSP - INITIAL CODE ENFORCMENT Approved TFD requested post fire inspection of unit 2114 on the morning of September 3rd, 2008. I responded and found TFD and TPD on scene. The fire was set intentionally and limited to contents. I was allowed to enter the apartment only briefly due to the fact it was a crime scene. No structural damage was immediately evident. There were some areas of wall-board removed by fire personnel however the fire never broke through the wall-board. I noted on eor two light fixtures damaged however they were still attached to the wall. Due to the limited amount of wall-board damage, less than 200 sq.ft., I advised the maintenance staff at the scene no permits would be required unless the restoration contractor or insurance investigators found additional damage which would indicate the need for a resto permit.
I recieved a call from Mr.Jake Anderson on 11-03-08 stating that the restoration contractor he hired had done electrical work and other work requiring a permit. I visited the site and found the service panel had been replaced as well as all the switches and receptacles in the room where the contents fire occured. In addition the contractor removed all the wall-board in that room. A permit for fire restoration will be required at this point.
