11/29/2007 | INSP - FULL | Violation | 1). The following fire code requirement must met immediately. Currently a portion of10th floor is not fully protected by an automatic sprinkler system. This is required by IFC (modified) Section 903.2.10.3 Buildings more than 55 feet in height. The existing subsection is hereby DELETED (in its entirety) and REPLACED with the following: Section 903.2.10.3 Buildings more than two stories. An automatic sprinkler system shall be installed throughout all buildings more than two stories or with a floor level having an occupant load of 30 or more that is located 55 feet or more above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access. Exception: Open parking garages. In addition during construction the following fire code during codes must be adhered to: 1414.1 Completion before occupancy. In buildings where an automatic sprinkler system is required by this code or the International Building Code, it shall be unlawful to occupy any portion of a building or structure until the automatic sprinkler system installation has been tested A fire watch is ordered in place for the sprinkler system that is out of service. This fire watch duties will be solely fire notification. IFC 901.7 2). Currently standpipes on roof are obstructed. A clear path from roof stairwell opening to standpipe must be created, immediately. IFC 508.5.4 20 feet width shall be cleared to standpipe The following shall be completed within 30 days. 3). Sprinkler test and inspection report shall be conducted and all repairs shall be completed with 30 days and submitted to TFD. IFC 901.6 4). Fire alarm test report shall be submitted will all repairs completed. IFC 901.6 5). Mount extinguisher in air handler room on roof and 2nd floor. IFC 901.3 6). Fire drill shall be conducted. Date and time shall be given to TFD within 30 days. IFC 404.2 7). 10th floor: patch hole above electrical service. IFC 703.1 8). Standpipe hose. Appeal must be sent to remove hose, or maintain proper storage of racking of hose. Appeal must be sent to deputy Chief Dan Uthe. Appeal form given IFC 901.3 9). Emergency lighting shall be provided for the following areas: 8th floor, 5th floor, and 3rd floor. IFC 1027.5 10). Automatic door closure shall be maintained in corridor on 6th floor. IFC 703.2.2 Door shall be closed until closure is repaired 11). Emergency generator log shall be submitted to TFD. IFC 604.3 12). Fire pump test shall be conducted and submitted to TFD. IFC 913.5 13). Extend sprinkler protection under vent in basement storage area. IFC 903.3.3 Obstructed locations. Automatic sprinklers shall be installed with due regard to obstructions that will delay activation or obstruct the water distribution pattern. Automatic sprinklers shall be installed in or under covered kiosks, displays, booths, concession stands, or equipment that exceeds 4 feet (1219 mm) in width.
