Tucson, AZ. 85710 Mrs. Trish Brown The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business on August 6, 2007. Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2006 International Fire Code (with modifications). A Re-inspection will be performed on or about August 20, 2007 Notice of Violations: 605.5 Extension Cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances. · Remove the extension cord in the front office behind the popcorn machine · Remove the extension cord that is going to the chiller 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the code official responsible for enforcement of the ICC Electrical Code. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used: · Currently there is some romex going from a light-switch extending through a vent in the maintenance shop. This does not comply with the Electrical code and shall be abated. · Currently there are some exposed wires near the ceiling in the housekeeping room. Also, the j-box is not properly mounted. These items shall be abated. · Repair the lights in the Tuff Shed. · Repair the light hanging from it's wires in the West breezeway. 605.6 Unapproved conditions. Open junction boxes and open-wiring splices shall be prohibited. Approved covers shall be provided for all switch and electrical outlet boxes. · Replace the missing cover-plate on the light switch in the pool room · Replace missing cover-plate behind the soda machines outside · Replace the missing cover-plates in the pump room (2 ea.) 3003.3 Security. Compressed gas containers, cylinders, tanks and systems shall be secured against accidental dislodgment and against access by unauthorized personnel in accordance with Sections 3003.3.1 through 3003.3.3. · Secure the compressed gas cylinders in the housekeeping room. Pool: IRC AG105.2 1. A swimming pool, as defined in section AG102, whether above ground or below ground, shall be protected by an enclosure surrounding the pool area as provided in this section and shall meet the following requirements: A. Be entirely enclosed by at least a five-foot wall, fence or other barrier as measured on the exterior side of the wall, fence or barrier. B. Have no openings in the wall, fence or barrier through which a spherical object four inched in diameter can pass. The horizontal components of any wall, fence or barrier shall be spaced not less than forty-five inches apart measured vertically or shall be placed on the pool side of a wall, fence or barrier which shall not have any opening in the vertical components (vertical rails) greater than one and three-quarter inches measured horizontally. C. Gates for the enclosure shall be self-closing and self-latching with a latch located at least 54 inches above the underlying ground or on the pool side of the gate with a release mechanism at least five inches below the top of the gate and no openings greater than one-half inch within 24 inches of the release. The gate shall open outward from the pool. D. The wall, fence or barrier shall not contain openings, handholds, or footholds accessible from the exterior side of the enclosure that can be used to climb the wall, fence or barrier. E. The wall, fence or barrier shall be at least twenty inches from the water's edge. 2. The residence or living area cannot be used as part of the enclosure required by subsection 1 for a swimming pool or other contained body of water except: (a) in the case of Indoor Pools, (b) if there are no operable openings exceeding 4 inches in the wall of the building in the portion used as an enclosure. · Currently your pool has access from the club house. The doors latch height is too low and the doors must self0close and self latch. Section D102 Roads. Roads 20 to 28 feet in width. Fire apparatus access roads 20 to 28 feet wide shall be posted on both sides as a fire lane. Roads greater than 28 and up to 36 feet in width. Fire apparatus access roads greater than 28 and up to 36 feet wide shall be posted on one side of the road as a fire lane. · The Road in the South portion of your property shall be signed as a fire lane in accordance with Section D102 The Tucson Fire Department is committed to the protection of your property.
