The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business on June 25, 2007. Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2003 International Fire Code (with modifications). A Re-inspection will be performed on or about July 9, 2007


Notice of Violations:
1026.3 Exit sign illumination. Exit signs shall be internally or externally illuminated. The face of an exit sign illuminated from an external source, shall have an intensity of not less than foot-candles (54 lux). Internally illuminated signs shall provide equivalent luminance and be listed for the purpose.

_____ 703.1 Maintenance. The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, fire stops, shaft enclosures, partitions and floors) shall be maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated:

1008.1.9 Panic and fire exit hardware. Where panic and fire exit hardware is installed, it shall comply with the following:
1. The actuating portion of the releasing device shall extend at least one-half of the door leaf width.
2. A maximum unlatching force of 15 pounds (67 N). Each door in a means of egress from an occupancy of Group A or E having an occupant load of 100 or more and any occupancy of Group H-1, H-2, H-3 or H-5 shall not be provided with a latch or lock unless it is panic hardware or fire exit hardware.
· Panic hardware on the door next to the riser shall operate when less than 15lbs of force is applied to the latch side.


_____ 901.4.1 Required fire protection systems. Fire protection systems required by this code or the International Building Code shall be installed, repaired, operated, tested and maintained in accordance with this code.

605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the code official responsible for enforcement of the ICC Electrical Code. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used:
· Abate electrical hazard in the areas near the old catwalk.
· Replace missing cover-plate outside the maintenance room in hallway
· Repair j-box/light switch in the "Fixture Room."
· Replace missing cover-plate in the "Carpet Room."

1006.3 Illumination emergency power. The power supply for means of egress illumination shall normally be provided by the premise's electrical supply
· All emergency back-up lighting shall operate throughout the business.
