06/01/2007 | INSP - FULL | Correction Required | FIRE INSPECTION REPORT 6/1/2007 MCDONALDS USA LLC (002-0576) ATTN: Kim Kenner 9130 E Valencia Tucson, AZ. 85747 Mrs. Kenner The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business on June 1, 2007. Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2003 International Fire Code (with modifications). A Re-inspection will be performed on or about June 18, 2007 Notice of Violations: ____ 1026.3 Exit sign illumination. Exit signs shall be internally or externally illuminated. The face of an exit sign illuminated from an external source, shall have an intensity of not less than foot-candles (54 lux). Internally illuminated signs shall provide equivalent luminance and be listed for the purpose. · The exit sign in the stock room shall illuminate by backup battery. · North exit sign shall illuminate by backup battery _____ 315.2.1 Ceiling clearance. Storage shall be maintained 2 feet (610 mm) or more below the ceiling in nonsprinklered areas of buildings. · Lower the boxes in the stock room so that they are not within 18 inches of the level of the sprinkler heads. _____ 510.1 Identification. Fire protection equipment shall be identified in an approved manner. Rooms containing controls for air-conditioning systems, sprinkler risers and valves, or other fire detection, suppression or control elements shall be identified for the use of the fire department. Approved signs required to identify fire protection equipment and equipment location, shall be constructed of durable materials, permanently installed and readily visible. · Provide a proper sign identifying the Fire Department Connection (FDC) outside. _____ 605.3 Working space and clearance. A working space of not less than 30 inches (762 mm) in width, 36 inches (914 mm) in depth and 78 inches (1981 mm) in height shall be provided in front of electrical service equipment. Where the electrical service equipment is wider than 30 inches (762 mm), the working space shall not be less than the width of the equipment. No storage of any materials shall be located within the designated working space. · Provide a blank in the electrical panel where the breaker is missing (outside the manager's office). _____ 703.1 Maintenance. The required fire-resistance rating of fire-resistance-rated construction (including walls, fire stops, shaft enclosures, partitions and floors) shall be maintained. Such elements shall be properly repaired, restored or replaced when damaged, altered, breached or penetrated. · Replace the missing ceiling tiles behind the stock in the stock room _____ 904.11.5 Commercial cooking equipment. Portable fire extinguishers shall be provided within a 30-foot (9144 mm) travel distance of commercial-type cooking equipment. Cooking equipment involving vegetable or animal oils and fats shall be protected by a Class K rated portable extinguisher. · Train all employees on the operation/ activation of the hood system _____ 1027.4 Furnishings and decorations. Furnishings, decorations or other objects shall not be placed so as to obstruct exits, access thereto, egress therefrom, or visibility thereof. · Do not block exits with trash cans. Marked Emergency exit route tatally blocked by trash & bread racks. 2. Fire Extinguishers blocked with storage. 3. Sprinkler system controls have items stored in front of them. 4. Rolling bulk storage units may have issues with high-piled storage & sprinklers. 5. FDC located on the west side of building is not marked. 6. Management is unable to determine who the Fire Alarm monitoring company is. 7. Corporate policy is not to dispose trash after dark causing significant indoor trash storage til morning. |
