05/10/2007 | INSP - FULL | Correction Required | FIRE INSPECTION REPORT 5/10/2007 Rosa's Crafts ATTN: Rosa Paz 5236 S. 12th Ave Tucson, AZ. 85714 Mrs. Paz The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspection at the above stated business on May 10, 2007. Below is a list of violations that shall be corrected to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. Compliance is required by the 2003 International Fire Code (with modifications). A Re-inspection will be performed on or about May 24, 2007 Notice of Violations: ___ 1008.1.8.3 Locks and latches. Locks and latches shall be permitted to prevent operation of doors where a readily visible durable sign is posted on the egress side on or adjacent to the door stating: THIS DOOR TO REMAIN UNLOCKED WHEN BUILDING IS OCCUPIED. The sign shall be in letters 1 inch (25mm) high on a contrasting background. · Place the approved sign above the main entrance doors in the Office ___ 3003.3.3 Securing compressed gas containers, cylinders and tanks. Compressed gas containers, cylinders and tanks shall be secured to prevent falling caused by contact, vibration or seismic activity. · Secure all compressed gas cylinders ___ 315.2.1 Ceiling clearance. Storage shall be maintained 2 feet (610 mm) or more below the ceiling in nonsprinklered areas of buildings... · Stock shall be lowered so that it is 24 inches below the ceiling. ___ 605.5 Extension Cords. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be a substitute for permanent wiring. Extension cords and flexible cords shall not be affixed to structures, extended through walls, ceilings or floors, or under doors or floor coverings, nor shall such cords be subject to environmental damage or physical impact. Extension cords shall be used only with portable appliances. · Remove the extension cords: · Above the cashier · In the corner near the radio · Microwave in the rear area of the store ___ 1013.4.1 Groups B and M. In Group B and M occupancies, the minimum clear aisle width shall be determined by Section 1005.1 for the occupant load served, but shall not be less than 36 inches (914 mm). Exception: Nonpublic aisles serving less than 50 people, and not required to be accessible by Chapter 11 of the International Building Code, need not exceed 28 inches (711 mm) in width. · Maintain 36 inches of aisle space in the display floor and 28 inches in areas that only serve the employees. ___ 605.1 Abatement of electrical hazards. Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Identified hazardous electrical conditions in permanent wiring shall be brought to the attention of the code official responsible for enforcement of the ICC Electrical Code. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used: · Remove the unapproved J-box near the microwave. · Place planks in the electrical panel ___ 315.3 Outside storage. Outside storage of combustible materials shall not be located within 10 feet (3048 mm) of a property line. Exceptions: 1. The separation distance is allowed to be reduced to 3 feet (914 mm) for storage not exceeding 6 feet (1829 mm) in height. · Combustible material in the backyard shall not come within 3 feet of the property line.
