In Groups B, F,Mand S, horizontal sliding or vertical security grilles are permitted at the main exit and shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or special knowledge or effort during periods that the space is occupied. The grilles shall remain secured in the full-open position during the period of occupancy by the general public. Where two or more means of egress are required, not more than one-half of the exits or exit access doorways shall be equipped with horizontal sliding or vertical security grilles. Security Grill on the North East corner must be removed. Security Grills on North West corner and South East corner must remain in the full open position ( up ) until the building is no longer occupied by the general public. There will be a sign posted adjacent to each grille in plain view that reads " These doors to remain unlocked while the building is occupied." | |

To ensure continued illumination for a duration of not less than 90 minutes in case of primary power loss, the sign illumination means shall be connected to an emergency power system provided from storage batteries, unit equipment or an on-site generator. The installation of the emergency power system shall be in accordance with Section 604. Replace back-up batteries in 3 exit signs in basement hallway and basement area. |
