02/12/2009 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | Approved | SPOKE WITH TRACY WILLIAMS ON THE ABOVE CASE. EXPLAINED I WAS ASKED TO INSPECT THE PROPERTY AFTER ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING HAD ALREADY ISSUED A NOV TO THE OWNER TO MAKE NECESSARY CORRECTION. MANY UNITS ARE SECTION 8 TENANTS, A LETTER WAS SENT TO EMILY NOTTINGHAM STATING ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING CONCERNS THAT UNITS WERE UNSAFE AND UNSANITARY. I EXPLAINED TO TRACY THAT I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY WE GOT INVOLVED ESPECIALLY AFTER THE STATE INSPECTED AND INCLUDING THE FACT THAT SECTION 8 INSPECTS THEIR OWN PROPERTY FOR MINIMUM HOUSING ISSUES. I MENTIONED THAT I DID INSPECT UNITS, MANY VIOLATIONS FROM STATE NOV HAD BEEN CORRECTED AND THAT ANY DNR VIOLATIONS WERE ABATED BY MOVING TENANTS FROM "UNSAFE" UNITS TO UNITS THAT HAD BEEN CORRECTED. TRACY SENT EMAIL TO PEGGY MORALES TO DETERMINE IF CODE ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE WAS STILL REQUIRED (EMAIL PLACED IN PACKET AND STORED IN SIRE). TRACY MENTIONED IF OUR ASSISTANCE WAS NOT REQUIRED THEN CASES COULD BE CLOSED. | |
