| 07/19/2007 | INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE | Correction Required | The property owner made contact with DNR regarding the NOV approximately 06-15 / 20-07. The caller claimed to be a non-english speaker. She was accomidated with a translator. She was told that the banner, window sign and the a-frame sign were illegal and needed to be removed. She was instructed to respond to DSD for hte appropriate permits, licenses and or necessary variences to conduct business in a residential zone. A subsequent follow up the week of June 25th, 2007 revealed the banner and both signs were still in place. On July 5th, 2007 Inspector Jesus Maldonado met with the responsible party explaining yet again the violations and attempted to gain compliance. At that meeting Inspector Maldonado obtained the owners signature on a document defining the restrictions in the Land Use Code relating to Home Occupations. The owner was made fully aware of the issues and acknowledged such with her signature on the document. On July 12th, 2007 I visited the property and observed the banner in place and the window sign still affixed to the glass. July 13th, 2007 Inspector Maldonado called the owner in the presence of myself and Inspector Brian Wiese to explain again the necessary action to abate the violation. The owner was given until Monday, July 16th, 2007 to remove the banner and window sign. During that telephone call, the owner asked Inspector Maldonado to call her back on a land line as she was using her wireless phone. Inspector Maldonado complied with that request and when he called the other number there was some laughter in the background and the calle was disconencted. On July 18th, 2007 I visited the property and discovered the banner and window sign had still not been removed. On July 19th, 2007 Inspections Supervisor Carlos Portillo was briefed. Mr. Portillo called Ms. Fiallos in a final attempt to gain compiance and she hung up on him. Citation will be issued today, July 19th, 2007. Follow up 30 days. |
