MADE INSPECTION, FOUND AS FOLLOWS: SMOKE DETECTOR WORKING, LIGHT STILL SHOWING THROUGH DOOR, NO PERMIT FOR ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT IN KITCHEN AREA - WATER HEATER WAS NOT FINISHED, COURT IS SET FOR DECEMBER 5, 2007 @ 9:30 AM.
07/24/2007 INSP - FOLLOW UP CODE ENFORCE Approved VISITED SITE, WAS MET BY TENANTS, TENANTS STATED THAT THERE WERE ELECTRICIAL PROBLEMS WITH THE INTERIOR AND THAT THE CHILD HAD SHOCKED HIMSELF ON THE EXPOSED OUTLET.
WENT TO THE INTERIOR AND FOUND A OUTLET (SW WALL) IN THE LIVING ROOM EXPOSED, ALSO FOUND ON THE SAME WALL (SE) A SWITCH FOR THE SWAMP COOLER EXPOSED. ASKED TENANTS IF THEY CONTACTED OWNER STATED THAT EHY DID AND OWNER DID NOT SEND ANYONE OVER. I THEN ASKED FOR HER PHONE #, CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE STATING THAT THERE WERE OPEN AND EXPOSED OUTLETS AND SWITCHES AND NEEDED AN ELECTRICIAN OVER TO REPAIR THESE ITEMS. RECEIVED A CALL BACK FROM OWNER AND EXPLAINED TO HER THE IMPORTANCE OF SENDING A ELECTRICAN OVER TO REPAIR THESE ITEMS. EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE EARLIEST THAT SHE COULD GET SOMEONE OVER WOULD BE THE FOLLOWING DAY. EXPLAINED TO HER THAT I COULD NOT HAVE THESE TENANTS LIVING IN THIS UNIT WITH OPEN AND EXPOSED CIRCUITS. OWNER STATED TO ME THAT SHE WOULD TRY. ELECTRICIAN CALLED ME WANTING TO KNOW STATUS OF ELECTRICIAL ISSUES AND ALSO MADE REFERENCE TO ME THAT WHY WAS I HARASSING THE OWNER. I EXPLAINED TO HIM THE SEVERITY OF OPEN AND EXPOSED CIRCUITS AND THE LIABILITY AND THEN HE UNDERSTOOD AND STATED THAT HE WOULD BE OUT TO REPAIR ELECTRICIAL. I THEN LEFT THE PREMISES RECEIVED A CALL AND ELECTRICIAN STATED THAT HE HAD REPAIRED ELECTRICAL.
