05/01/2006 INITIAL CODE VIOLATION Approved RECEIVED A CALL FROM COMMUNICATION FOR TFD ON SITE WITH HOUSE FIRE. ARRIVED TO SITE AND FIRE WAS ON WEST SIDE OF OUTSIDE OF HOUSE. THE FIRE BURNED A FENCE AND SOME DEBRIS THAT CARRIED ONTO THE OVERHANG. IT BROKE THE BATHROOM WINDOW AND DIDN'T GO INSIDE THE HOUSE. HOLES WERE MADE IN BATHROOM CEILING TO CHECK FOR FIRE PENETRATION. WHILE CHECKING THE INSIDE OF HOUSE FOUND EXPOSED WIRING WHERE OUTLETS AND SWITCHES HAVE BEEN REMOVED. MISSING COVER-PLATES THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE. FOUND NO SMOKE DETECTORS IN HALLWAYS OR BEDROOMS, BATHROOM LACKING SINK AND SURROUND TO TUB AND SHOWER. BEDROOMS ARE STACKED WITH ITEMS AND NOT BEING USED AS BEDROOMS BUT STORAGE. FRONT ROOM AT ENTRY DOOR IS FULL FLOOR TO CEILING WITH BOXES, TOOLS, BIKES AND OTHER ITEMS. FOUND WHERE INSIDE ONE BEDROOM HAS SOFFIT BEING ADDED WITH FLEX DUCT. SOME LIGHTING HAS BEEN ADDED AND ARE NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY. WENT ON ROOF AND FOUND 2 AC/GAS PACKS WHICH APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN ADDED AND NEED TO CHECK FOR PERMITS. WHILE CHECKING THE FIRE AREA AND CHECKING THE ELECTRICAL, WAS CHECKING WHERE THE ELECTRICAL GOES TO SUB-PANEL INSIDE HOUSE AND FOUND WHERE THE HEAT WAS ON AND LB APPEAR TO BE SWOLLEN. CALLED TEP TO REMOVE THE METER DUE TO WIRING INSIDE THE LB NEEDS TO BE CHECKED FOR HEAT DAMAGE. THE CONDUIT AND LB ARE IN THE HEAT PATH WHERE THE OVERHANG ARE CLEARED. SW GAS TESTED THE GAS LINE AND IT FAILED AND WAS NOT HOLDING PRESSURE. GAS METER PINNED. OWNER WAS CALLED TO SITE AND HE SECURED BROKEN WINDOW AND WAS TOLD THAT METER FOR ELECTRIC AND GAS WERE GOING TO BE TURNED OFF. ADVISED THE CLEARANCES WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE TURNED BACK ON. SHOWED OWNER THE INTERIOR OF HOUSE AND ITEMS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED. I WAS TOLD THE TENANTS WERE IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING OUT AND ONCE THE HOUSE IS CLEAR, REPAIRS WERE GOING TO BE DONE. ADVISED THAT DWELLING HAS WORK WITHOUT PERMITS ON AC, SOFFIT WITH FLEX LINE, DRYWALL ADDED IN ONE BEDROOM ON FRONT PORTION. SHOWED FIVE AREAS AND WHERE ELECTRICAL NEEDS TO BE CHECKED. TENANTS WERE GETTING UP ITEMS THAT THEY NEED FOR THE NIGHT. PROPERTY WAS POSTED UNFIT TO OCCUPY AND OWNER SIGNED PAPERWORK OF DAMAGE REPORT AND NOTICE OF VIOLATION TO VACATE PROPERTY. WILL CHECK IN 10 DAYS.
