RE: FIRE INSPECTION: 7910 E. GOLFLINKS

Dear Mr. Mahlsted,

The Tucson Fire Department has conducted a fire safety inspections at the above stated business on September 29, 2006. At that time a notice was issued indicating the corrections required to provide compliance with the applicable codes, regulations and ordinances.

A Subsequent re-inspection was conducted on Oct. 13, 2006. One item was corrected. We were unable to gain voluntary compliance. Compliance is required by the 2003 Uniform Fire Code w/ Modifications

MEANS OF EGRESS ILLUMINATION
1006.1 Illumination required. The means of egress, including the exit discharge, shall be illuminated at all times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied.
§ CURRENTLY THERE ARE 4 EXIT SIGNS WHICH NEED ILLUMINATION

MEANS OF EGRESS
315.2.2 Combustible materials shall not be stored in exits or exit enclosures.
§ Remove the storage that is in the East exit way.

ATTIC, UNDER-FLOOR AND CONCEALED SPACES.
315.2.4 Attic, under-floor and concealed spaces used for storage of combustible materials shall be protected on the storage side as required for 1-hour fire-resistance-rated construction.

§ Do not store files in your attic space above the coolers

INSPECTION, TESTING AND MAINTENANCE
901.7/ 901.6 Fire extinguishing systems shall be maintained in an operative condition at all times, and shall be replaced or repaired where defective..

Fire extinguishers shall be properly mounted and serviced annually.

DISPENSING OPERATIONS
2204.1 Supervision of dispensing. The dispensing of fuel at motor fuel-dispensing facilities shall be conducted by a qualified attendant or shall be under the supervision of a qualified attendant at all times or shall be in accordance with Section:
§ Train your employees about the emergency fuel shut-off systems.

EMERGENCY DISCONNECT SWITCHES
2203.2 An approved, clearly identified and readily accessible emergency disconnect switch shall be provided at an approved location, to stop the transfer of fuel to the fuel dispensers in the event of a fuel spill other emergency. An emergency disconnect switch for exterior fuel dispensers shall be located within 100 feet (30 480 mm) of, but not less than 20 feet (6096 mm) from, the fuel dispensers. For interior fuel-dispensing operations, the emergency disconnect switch shall be installed at an approved location. Such devices shall be distinctly labeled as: EMERGENCY FUEL SHUTOFF. Signs shall be provided in approved locations:

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION.
2205.2 Motor fuel-dispensing facility equipment shall be maintained in proper working order at all times in accordance with Sections 2205.2.1 through 2205.2.3.

SECURITY-COMPRESSED GAS CYILNDER
3003.3 Compressed gas containers, cylinders, and systems shall be secured against accidental dislodgment.

ABATEMENT OF ELECTRICAL HAZARDS.
605.1 Identified electrical hazards shall be abated. Electrical wiring, devices, appliances and other equipment that is modified or damaged and constitutes an electrical shock or fire hazard shall not be used.
§ Currently the outlet near the garbage containers out side is broken.

This letter is to inform you that if the above stated necessary corrections have not been completed November 3, 2006 a citation will be issued which will require an appearance by you in court with a probable fine. This letter is written as a courtesy to you in order to avoid future litigation.
